There is an interesting connection between the above mentioned two. Most creative art forms begin their life as some form of crap.

Recently, I came to know that Novels initially began their life as porn.

Now, they are one of the truly noble art forms.

That's why I like the concept of 'Yo Momma Jokes' and 'A-Jokes'.

Yo Mama jokes have this format: they being with You Mom and some derogatory statement.

Now, I have to warn you, you should be good enough to distinguish between whats perverted and what's not.

Once you do this, you will be pleasantly surprised how clever these jokes are.

Let me give you an example:

Your mom is so fat she sat on a binary tree and turned it
into a linked list in constant time!

This is a good reason why you should be open to all sorts of  stuff and sharpen your senses to neglect the bad ones you come across.

But, It is a very bad idea if people reject things EVEN before they sample some of it. (Now, I am talking only about art forms and stuff, this does not mean that you should go ahead and smoke weed).
